  • Participated in public meeting hosted by the DC Housing Authority on the Greenleaf redevelopment. Followed up with an email (excerpted below) with the Executive Director to praise progress and commitment to residents.

    Dear Director Pettigrew,

I was elated with yesterday's presentation. Finally, we have a Build-First Model! You kept your word to look into this and to deliver it if at all possible…Redevelopment has hung over Greenleaf families like a sword of Damocles for over 10 years. On top of other environmental, income, and health stressors in the public health economy, the redevelopment has caused much harm - divestment from maintenance and public health and safety being sources. Yesterday, I saw residents who were pleased with your progress. Your commitment to residents and resident councils is noble and authentic precisely because of your follow-through.

  • Fielded concerns from residents on building conditions as president of tenant association.
